We are very fortunate to have an eat-in kitchen. We are a no-nonsense, work-at-home couple with sons. The kitchen table is really the heart of the home. Buck designed and built this table with the goal of having a small kitchen-sized table which expanded to the largest possible size, with leaf storage within the table. Also, it was to have a distressed / antique look similar to old farm tables. This table’s finish was developed by Buck and myself to be durable, usable, renewable and easily repairable. We wanted to use our table without worrying about coasters or spills. We have now been using our table many times daily for over a year, and it still looks fantastic. No water rings, abrasions, wine spots or other blemishes, despite being regularly exposed to all possible kitchen fluids, and receiving nearly no maintenance. Click here to read more. Without leaves, at 30 x 60 inches, it seats four comfortably.
This series of photos shows this little 30 x 60 inch table growing in size until it can seat ten people comfortably. These leaf arms are very sturdy (there’s steel involved) and will NOT sag.
This photo series shows the ends of the table. What looks like a drawer at one end is actually a flip-down door. This conceals the leaves, stored within the table. A handy drawer is at the other end.
